Weigh-in & a skirt

Amazingly, I lost 1.2 pounds this week, for a total loss of 7.4 pounds, which leaves 36.6 pounds to go. The loss is amazing because I drank half a bottle of wine last night. I wonder what it would have been if I hadn't?

The going is sloooowwww, but such is weight loss when you're not exercising. I keep saying every week I'm going to start exercising, but then I never do. I went on one walk last week; that was it. But I'm gearing up for something much more intense in the next week, which I'll be writing about shortly.

So, this week's item of clothing that I'm looking forward to fitting into is this skirt.

I bought this skirt in 2006, right before I started a new job. It's only one size smaller than I am right now, so maybe I'll fit into it soon-ish. I love it because it's light and summery and poofy and hides a multitude of cottage-cheese-thigh sins.

The print is preppy and cute. I'm imagining wearing this with gladiator sandals (which I must have this year. I simply must) and a tank top as I sip a mai tai at a beach-front bar somewhere. I'm also tanned to glowing perfection and have awesome, shiny hair in this fantasy, FYI.

PMS is right around the corner, so wish me luck in avoiding chocolate and cheeseburgers!

  1. I'm also trying to lose weight without exercising (my sprained ankle is healing)! However, I was unaware that wine would help speed things up. I'll keep this in mind.
I dig the skirt. I'm a big fan of skirts as they are a hell of a lot more forgiving than pants. Plus it's purdy.

  2. Here's your motivation on working out:

Guuurl, if I can find time to work out, you can. I just did 20 minutes on an elliptical on my lunch break because I commute 2 hours a day.

Now can you throw that back in my face about NOT eating any more homemade chicken pot pie leftovers? Kthnx.

(Also, unno about you, but if I drink too much I tend to wake up weighing less because I'm dehydrated. It's not until day 2-3 after drinking that the calories tend to stick. In cottage cheese form.)

  4. Vanessa - take it from me: Wine is the way to go! ;-)

SM - you are so right. I have no excuse! Now put down the pot pie. And also, you are right about the dehydration thing, but all that matters is what I weigh on Tuesdays! Mwahahahahah....

Holly - ditto to the 12th degree! I think humans naturally want to lie around and be still so when they have to go hunting for mammoth they have plenty of energy. Just waiting for evolution to catch up over here!

  5. Woohoo! Good for you! And that skirt is darling. I have motivation clothes too. I have a pair of pants I got in college. Still can't fit into them. But they're so stinking adorable!
